Vinyl

Vinyl can be designed in effectively an endless array of designs and colours. It’s easy to care for and waterproof. Like all types of flooring, the quality of the product you choose will be the deciding factor in it’s longevity. But all things being equal, the cost effectiveness of vinyl makes it a popular choice despite some of its drawbacks.

Laminate

Laminate flooring is a cost effective, versatile choice for any room in the home. It can be made to imitate wood, ceramic and stone flooring, and is resistant to the wear and tear (such as discolouring) common in other types of floors. This is, however, dependent on the quality of laminate you choose. The higher quality laminate, the longer it will last.  Since it’s not adhered to the subfloor, it will not buckle or snap under pressure from environmental changes. It's resistance to mold and bacteria is also a positive attribute.

Carpet

Carpet comes in a variety of lengths and styles, but all provide a soft, comfortable, warm and quiet flooring option for your home. These attributes are why carpet remains incredibly popular in living areas and bedrooms, despite it’s difficulty to maintain and clean. Again, the lifespan of the carpet is going to depend on the quality of product and the amount of traffic the floor experiences – something to strongly consider when choosing carpet.

Hardwood

Hardwood flooring can be seen as an investment more than any other flooring option. It holds both a timeless and classic look, and can boost the aesthetic value of any room and home. Maintenance and cleaning is relatively easy, and it’s hypoallergenic nature is a huge plus. Unlike other types of flooring, hardwoods almost seem to improve with time.
